The artwork that is exhibited on this site has been created by my photography and sculpture students in response to projects that they were assigned remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic. The photography program at John Dewey High School, when our classes are held in person, is film and darkroom based, while the ceramics and sculpture program is clay and carving materials based. Since our programs have gone remote, until it is safe to return to our art studios in school, the projects that have been assigned have made use of simple paper and cardboard materials that are widely available to our students in their homes. The photography projects have been accomplished using smartphone cameras. I hope that you enjoy viewing our students’ work.
